Scientifically named "Gomphrena globosa", it is commonly called "Globe Amaranth". Native to Central America this flower is now grown globally. While this photograph highlights a red globe amaranth, their colors also include magenta, purple, orange, white, pink and lilac. Photographed at Ogden Botanical Gardens, Ogden, UT.

Looks like one I should look out for at the nursery. Beautiful flower and shot Len. The vignette adds some emphasis on the flower.
