This little guy was minding his own business, resting peacefully on a spent daylily pod when I stuck my camera in his face. Startled, he sprang up onto all fours as if saying "What? Is there a problem?"

Your story reminds me of the time I was keeping a pet praying mantis, and I got a tiny toy telescope an inch long, and I was looking at him through it, and he would look into the lens, and then around it, and then back into it. He did this several times.
